Scope note
A chair designed by Marcel Breuer ca. 1925 that features a tubular chromed-steel structure and strips of leather used as seat, back, and arm support. This chair is often used as a prime example of the design aesthetic of the Bauhaus during this period, and of mid-20th century modernist design in general, due to the innovation of the use of tubular steel in its construction.
